About Us

Owner Derick grew up flying radio control airplanes with his grandfather Raphael Samson, who inspired the Samsons' hobby store. Prior to 2015, Derick sold r/c aviation products out of his custom car business Samson Design. In 2015, Derick and his wife Paige expanded Samson R/C Hobby Shop and moved the store to the Marshall town square. In early 2019, they moved the hobby shop to 925 N. English, adjacent to Derick's other two businesses, Value Trains USA and Samson Design. They currently carry several lines of r/c airplanes, model trains (HO scale, O scale, & N scale), r/c cars and trucks, plastic car models, airplane & boat models, Gundam models & accessories, dollhouses and furniture, science kits, paints, glues, and more, as well as an indoor concrete oval racetrack.
